Each mug in our Riverside range portrays a fish commonly found in U.K. waters. Appropriately finished with detailed graphics on the inner rim, and explanatory text on the front face, the Riverside range is a sure favourite with any angler. Each mug in this range has a brief description on the front face - as shown below. Description on mug: Rainbow Trout (Code 303) - Salmo gairdneri: Originally from North America, the Rainbow Trout is now fished throughout Europe although re-stocking is usually necessary to maintain numbers. Highly prized for the table and intensively bred in ponds and reservoirs, this handsome fish provides good sport and large specimens may be over three feet in length. Trout spawn between November and May in running water, the eggs being deposited in shallow troughs on the river bed.
